I'm not going to lie to you guys, I'm actually a workout flake. I get into these bouts of motivation to get fit and exercise which lasts all of three weeks and then I'm back to my usual position of Head Couch Potato. I used to go to the gym but because it was a bit out of the way and I was going to uni 5 days a week and working on the weekends I couldn't really find time to do go. Now, I enjoy going to yoga classes with my mom and doing a 15 minute intense workout from the Nike Training App.
Now, nothing gets me more motivated than getting a new set of workout clothes. Who isn't motivated by new workout clothes?! When I started out, I just got a few bottoms from Target and a few tank tops and I was good to go, but then I upgraded to Nike bottoms (one shorts and one 'original' cut) and a fitted Reebok crop. Personally, I think that it is worth spending money on high quality workout bottoms as they really make a difference. With the Target bottoms I found that I chafed (ew) more easily and I was not as mobile as I hoped to be. It is a bit of common sense ("You pay for quality" as my father always says) that a higher priced brand would use better materials and the product will last much longer. Bad workout bottoms can hinder your workout due to chafing, general discomfort, and lack of breathability.
My philosophy is quite the opposite for workout tops and bras. Recently, my mom and I have discovered that Forever 21 does quite good active wear. Their bras and tanks are comfortable, stylish, and they seem to be of good quality. I have used them for yoga and I find them to be quite breathable. Unless you're doing some heavy intense training, I think that fairly lower priced workout tops and bras are perfectly fine, particularly if you are a relatively small-chested person like myself who does not require high support. If you do have the budget, I suggest investing in a couple of bras (Lululemon does an amazing bra that I am eyeing called the 'All Sport' Bra) and fitted tees.
Do you share the same opinion? Let me know down below!
I'd love to hear more about what workouts you use from the Nike Training app - I have it but never use it. Also have to agree with you on wearing high quality bottoms.... too many times have I seen unfortunate leggings situations in yoga classes - yikes!!!

I like doing the 'Get Focused' routines for Beginners because I find that they are very effective, especially if you're a beginner (which I totally am). From there, I like starting out with 'Full Stretch Guide' then do any of the following: 'Perfect Alignment', 'Box Smart', or 'To The Core'. What's great about the app is that they add new workouts every so often so there's a lot to try out! Let me know how you go :)
DeleteOh definitely! You don't want to be caught being the person in the unfortunate situation either ;)
