What's In My: University Bag

My uni bag is something that I have with me most days. For the last two years I've been using a Dakine backpack which was big enough to fit everything I needed (including my laptop). I used to carry multiple notebooks and pouches which took up more space than necessary. This year I changed up my essentials and note-taking methods and managed to fit everything in a rectangular shoulder bag from Esprit.

These days I carry a thick Spirax notebook which I use to take notes throughout the semester (and I re-write them in separate notebooks at home) which fits perfectly in my bag. I also carry my pencil case with me.

My current wallet is from Kate Spade Saturday (unfortunately I don't remember the name) which I picked up early this year at 50% off! It's bigger than what I'm used to but it was red and I love anything red. Which leads me to my ever-so-handy umbrella from Uniqlo. The design is supposed to be 'wind-turn' which means that it resists wind, something that's handy to have seeing as 70% of the time I'm unable to use an umbrella because of the wind. If you're near a Uniqlo, I recommend getting one; they're not too expensive, come in a lot of colours, and seem to be sturdy (fingers crossed).

The pink card holder in the middle is from Urban Outfitters (out of stock) and it holds my uni ID card and my travel card. It's a lot easier than keeping my travel card in my wallet and having to take that great big thing out every time I get on a bus or train.

For beauty products I have four lip products: Lanolips Lip Ointment, YSL Volupte Tint-In-Oil in Pink About Me, Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in Nude Shimmer, and Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Rapture. I've been reaching for the YSL offering more these days because it's bright without being too bright and it's ultra nourishing.

I also keep a rollerball of the Elizabeth and James Nirvana White perfume which I picked up from Sephora three weeks ago. It's a wonderful floral scent that doesn't make me sneeze every 10 minutes (bonus points). I often forget to apply perfume before I leave the house so this makes sure that I'm smelling nice everyday.

The Lanolips Antibacterial Hand Cream is amazing to have especially now that the cold front is coming in. Being on public transport every single day means lots of germs and bacteria, something I don't want. This cream ensures my hands are moisturised and clean.

To keep organised, I use this tiny (but effective) Kikki.K planner. It's small enough not to add extra weight to my bag, but big enough to be able to fit to-do lists and reminders.

The black pouch carries some blotting paper, band-aids, blister band-aids, antacids, ibuprofen, and the ever necessary antihistamines. These are just the little bits and pieces that I don't need everyday but are always good to have on hand.

So that's everything. What essentials do you keep in your uni bag? Anything you think I should add to mine? Let me know below!

  1. Everyone talks about Elizabeth and James Nirvana White perfume. Need to find it :) My bag is always full of everything but in the end I only use few things. I'm always caring stuff just in case I need them. It's a bad habit.

    1. I've been a victim of the 'just in case' syndrome, but only carrying the essentials means a lighter bag to carry which is good for the shoulders :)
